Bothersome Element in The Secret of Secrets
The Secret of Secrets portrays death as the boundary that binds us to fear, fear the boundary to selfishness and hate. Nonlocal consciousness as some palliative to overcome the boundary. Nonlocal consciousness feels untrue to the phenomenology of self. The receiving machinery is not passive. Our tools shape us.
Certainty is the folly, uncertainty transcendent. The negative capability of Keats, Endymion’s root of beauty.
That all got in the way of an otherwise enjoyable read.
